If you are shopping for a tool to track how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude talk about your brand, Profound is probably the first name you found. It defined the category, it raised the most money, and it has the enterprise logos to prove it.
That does not automatically make it the right tool for your team.
This page compares nBlick and Profound on the things that actually decide the purchase: what you get at each price point, how many engines you really unlock, whether the tool helps you fix what it finds, and how long it takes to get value. We include the places where Profound wins outright, because pretending otherwise would waste your time.
Quick overview
nBlick's strengths
- A free plan that does not expire. Not a 14-day trial. Not a one-off report. A permanent free tier.
- Persona modelling in the core product. nBlick builds your ideal customer profile first, then generates the prompts that buyer actually types. Profound has persona tracking too, but only on Enterprise.
- Measurement and content generation in the same flow, on every paid plan, starting at US$ 19 per month.
- An agent that runs the full loop — monitoring, diagnosis, and content fixes — without manual work.
- Four engines on every plan: ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude. Not one engine on entry, four on entry.
- Spanish-language interface and support, built for Spanish-language prompts and Spanish-speaking markets.
Profound's strengths
- Prompt Volumes. The only dataset of its kind in the category: over 1.5 billion real user conversations, filterable by region and demographics. If your problem is deciding which topics have AI search demand before you invest in content, nothing else on the market does this.
- Engine breadth at the top tier. 10 to 11 platforms on Enterprise, including Copilot, Meta AI, Grok, DeepSeek and Amazon Rufus.
- Enterprise compliance. SOC 2 Type II, SSO via SAML/OIDC, HIPAA. If your procurement team has a security questionnaire, Profound clears it.
- Agent Analytics. Server log ingestion through Cloudflare, Akamai, Fastly, AWS CloudFront, GCP, Netlify and WordPress, so you can see which AI crawlers actually reach your pages.
- Opportunities panel. Names a specific journalist at a specific outlet, or a specific subreddit thread. That level of specificity is rare.
Entry-level plans: what US$ 99 actually buys
Both companies publish a starter tier around the US$ 20 to US$ 100 mark. They are not remotely comparable.
nBlick Studio — US$ 19/month
- ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude
- Content generation included
- Persona modelling included
- Free plan available before you pay anything
Profound Starter — US$ 99/month (US$ 82.50 billed annually)
- 50 prompts
- ChatGPT only
- 1 seat
- 1 region
- No free trial on paid plans
The part nobody says out loud
Profound's Starter tier is not designed to run an AI visibility program. It is designed to get you into the funnel.
We are not the ones saying this. Airefs, in a June 2026 review, put it plainly: the $99/mo Starter is "deliberately limited," the features that justify the platform only unlock at $399/mo, and "teams comparing Profound against alternatives should use $399/mo as the real comparison price." They list it under Cons as: "Real entry point is $399/mo Growth; effective price is 4x the headline price."
Zapier, which tested more than 20 platforms, reached the same conclusion from the other direction: Profound "offers free demos but not free trials — you must commit to a plan from the get-go to fully test drive the features." Their two-word summary of the Cons column: "Expensive," and "Visibility only into tracked prompts."
One engine, one seat, one region, and no way to try it first. That is the US$ 99 tier.
Mid-tier: US$ 229 vs US$ 399
nBlick Growth — US$ 229/month
- Four engines
- Monitoring, diagnosis and content generation in one workflow
- Persona-based prompt generation
Profound Growth — US$ 399/month (US$ 332.50 annually)
- 100 prompts
- 3 platforms: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews
- 3 seats
- 1 region
- Content generation and optimization: 3 articles each per month
- 4 earned media opportunities per week
Three things to notice
Claude and Gemini are not in Growth. At US$ 399 per month you are tracking ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Claude, Gemini and Grok require Enterprise pricing. Claude is the assistant a large share of technical and B2B buyers use daily. nBlick includes it at US$ 19.
One region. Profound's Growth plan covers a single region. If you sell in Argentina and Mexico, or Spain and Colombia, that is two separate problems Growth does not solve.
Three articles per month. Profound's content generation on Growth is capped at 3 articles and 3 optimizations monthly. Work out the cost per article at US$ 399 and compare it to what your content team already costs you.
Is Prompt Volumes worth the price of admission?
This deserves an honest answer, because Prompt Volumes is genuinely the strongest single feature any vendor in this category has shipped.
It tells you how much AI search demand exists for a topic before you write anything. That is the equivalent of keyword volume in traditional SEO, and no competitor — including us — has an answer to it.
Here is the catch: Prompt Volumes lives on Enterprise. Discovered Labs puts Enterprise pricing at roughly US$ 2,000+ per month. So the feature that most people cite as the reason to choose Profound is not available on either self-serve plan.
If you have that budget and topic selection is your bottleneck, buy Profound. We mean that. If your bottleneck is that you already know which topics matter and you cannot get cited for them, you are paying enterprise prices for a research tool and still going somewhere else to write.
Is the content generator a real advantage?
Profound ships Agents: content briefs and full article drafts generated from what AI models are citing in your category. On paper this closes the loop.
Two things worth checking before you rely on it.
Peec AI, reviewing Profound's supplemental terms, states that Profound "doesn't guarantee the uniqueness of the articles." If you are publishing at scale under your own brand, uniqueness is not a nice-to-have.
More broadly, AI-generated articles tend to be thin on the signals that make content citable in the first place: named sources, author credentials, original data, expert quotes. Google's own quality guidance asks whether content "presents information in a way that makes you want to trust it (clear sourcing, evidence of expertise)." A draft generated from other people's citations does not automatically clear that bar — in any tool, ours included. Budget for human editing regardless of which platform you pick.
The regional data question
This one is not our accusation, and we are flagging it as exactly what it is: a public allegation by a competitor that Profound has not answered publicly.
In its own comparison page, Peec AI alleges that in regions where Profound's proxy infrastructure is limited — Germany is the example given — Profound "may 'inject' geographic identifiers directly into prompts to force localized results," citing a LinkedIn post by Tina Reis. Peec's argument is that scraping from one location while altering the prompt to simulate another produces answers that differ from what local users actually see.
We have not independently verified this and Profound has not published a response that we can find. We are surfacing it because if you are buying this tool to understand what a buyer in Buenos Aires or Bogotá sees, methodology is the whole product. Ask both vendors, in writing, where the request physically originates for your market. Any vendor that cannot answer that clearly is not measuring what you think it is measuring.
Onboarding and time to first value
nBlick: self-serve signup, free plan, no credit card. You see your own data before you talk to anyone.
Profound: requires a sales conversation and technical integration before data flows. Setup is described as taking days, with a dedicated CSM and training included at higher tiers. No self-serve entry and no trial on paid plans.
Neither approach is wrong. A CSM and a 99.9% uptime SLA are worth real money to a 500-person company. They are overhead to a 12-person marketing team that needs a number by Thursday.
Where nBlick wins
Price of admission. US$ 19 with four engines against US$ 399 with three. That is not a marginal difference, it is a different category of decision — one needs a budget approval, one does not.
You can try it. Profound has no free trial on paid plans. We have a permanent free tier. In a market where Profound's own research shows 40 to 60 percent of cited domains rotate month over month, you should not commit budget to any vendor before seeing your own data move.
Personas instead of keyword lists. Most tools take a keyword list and convert it to prompts. nBlick models your ideal buyer first and derives the prompts from there. A procurement manager and an engineer researching the same product ask completely different questions, and only one of those questions is attached to your pipeline.
Measurement and execution in the same place. Profound closes this loop too, but from US$ 399 and capped at 3 articles a month. We close it from US$ 19.
Spanish, natively. Interface, support and prompt handling built for Spanish-language markets rather than translated into them.
Where Profound beats nBlick
We are not going to pretend this table only runs one way. The winner of each row is in bold.
| nBlick | Profound | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price | US$ 19/mo | US$ 99/mo (real entry: US$ 399/mo) |
| Free plan | Permanent free tier, no credit card | No free plan, no trial on paid plans |
| Engines on entry plan | 4 — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude | 1 — ChatGPT only |
| Engine breadth at top tier | 4 | 10–11 on Enterprise |
| Content generation | Every paid plan | Growth and above, capped at 3 articles/mo |
| Persona modelling | Core product | Enterprise only |
| Prompt volume data | None | 1.5B+ conversations, Enterprise only |
| Server log / AI crawler analytics | Limited | Yes, 7 CDN integrations |
| Multi-region coverage | Focused on Spanish-language markets | 150+ regions, 30+ languages |
| SOC 2 Type II / HIPAA | No | Yes |
| Spanish interface and support | Yes | No |
| Time to first value | Self-serve signup, your own data in minutes | Sales call plus technical integration, days |

If your buying criteria are prompt volume data, compliance, engine breadth, crawler analytics or multi-region coverage, buy Profound. It is a better product for that job and we would rather you spent your money well than churned off us in three months.
Results
Four articles generated with nBlick lifted total AI search visibility by 64% in 60 days. We published the breakdown on LinkedIn.
Context you should hold onto: GEO moves faster than SEO because models re-cite sources in cycles of days rather than months. Frase reports first citations of new content within one to two weeks, and sustained improvement over three to four months. A single case study does not predict your result — your industry, your domain authority and your publishing consistency all move the number.
Our perspective
Profound built the category and deserves the credit. It is the right choice for enterprises that need compliance, engine breadth and demand data, and that have someone on staff to turn a dashboard into a content plan.
But look at how the pricing is constructed. One engine on entry. Three engines and one region at US$ 399. Claude, Gemini and Prompt Volumes behind Enterprise. No trial anywhere. Every gate is placed exactly where a growing team hits it.
nBlick is built on the opposite assumption: that the team who needs this most is the one that cannot get a US$ 5,000 annual purchase order approved to find out whether they have a problem.
